Dog day afternoon

A spectacular and violent afternoon spent in Joshua Tree National Park. We missed the worst of the storm but did spend 10 minutes in rain so heavy it was not possible to see more than a few metres. The sunset after the storm had passed was equally spectacular.

The small town of 29 Palms was not so lucky and experienced flash flooding, hail and mud slides.

Speyer Technical Museum

This is a very small selection of what is on display at this museum, trains, planes, cars, bikes, boats and spacecraft. We spent about 3 hours at the museum, there is also another location at Sinsheim but unfortunately we didn't have enough time to visit that facility. Apart from this excellent museum there is the added bonus of the city, Speyer is a very easy place to spend some time.
