Australians like to describe themselves as sport crazy but in reality that only extends to watching sport on TV and reading about it online and in newspapers. Sydney's ''quality'' newspaper, The Herald could only manage 6 lines in this mornings paper about last nights event but had the usual 16 pages of football and cricket and 4 pages of news.
Tickets were only $20, great value for 3 hours of exciting racing.
My Nikon S9100 was not the best choice for this type of event, with no manual shutter speed adjustment or aperture control most action shots were unusable but the wide to telephoto range is amazing even without a tripod and in relatively low light.
