High Country Backroads.

2008 - 2010
I am very fortunate to have ridden one of the best mountain bike trails in the world, Monarch Crest in Colorado and can also say I have driven one of the best alpine roads in the world as well. It's not in the US or Europe, its right in my own backyard, southern NSW and northern Victoria. I have driven most of the high alpine passes in Europe and the US and none offer the same combination of distance [500kms.] scenery, almost total lack of traffic and good road surface as this drive.

The smooth hot mix surface of the Snowy Mtns. Hwy. is very different to most of the other roads in NSW

The Snowy Mtns. National Park.

 Tawonga northern Victoria.

 24kms. of absolute perfection.

The road from Omeo to Bairnsdale, also excellent but after the previous 400kms. it seems a bit tame.

Heading back down to Tawonga from Dinner Plains.
