A new name for Sydney's Eastern Creek Raceway, plenty of improvements and a split circuit design that will allow two club events to be run at the same time but with all of the changes someone has to pay. The next HSRCA historic car meeting in August will see amateur entrants having to pay $700 for a basic entry.
Hopefully the new proposed circuit at Raymond Terrace will get final approval and the short circuit at Bathurst will go ahead. Without these two new circuits the cost of racing at SMP will probably force out many of the current group of enthusiastic amateur racers, not a good result for what is one of the most entertaining forms of motor sport.
The following is a very small selection of what was there today.
1965 Ferrari 275, a similar car was sold this year by Bonhams for US$1,244,000 |
Photos were taken using a Nikon D80 and a Nikkor 35mm 1:1.8 lens, the lens was bought new from Adorama in New York for US$147, an absolute bargain. The photo of the Ferrari and the Mustang were cropped by 80% and are still acceptably sharp.
