Sydney Harbour

Living in Sydney you do tend to take the city and the harbour for granted but a few hours spent on a small boat exploring the well known parts and the quiet bays is a good way appreciate it. Sydney may be getting rough around the edges but the harbour is still a special place.

It is amazing how rough and choppy the water is east of the bridge, dozens of ferries, barges and water taxis create a lot of turbulence, especially if you are in a 5.3 metre boat. It doesn't look it from these photos, that's because I had to delete most of the photos taken in that part of the harbour, keeping the camera steady was impossible.

There is no way you can comfortably keep a small boat on the plane until you get west of the bridge.
